CATALUÑA, España,- Con el propósito de allanar el camino para consolidar las relaciones comerciales entre la República Dominicana y España, el coordinador de campaña del Partido Revolucionario moderno (PRM) en Europa, Antonio Gómez, se reunió con el empresario Josep i Sánchez Llibre, presidente de Fomento de Trabajo, principal organización empresarial de Cataluña.
La reunión se enmarca en una serie de visitas programadas con el sector empresarial español para fortalecer los lazos comerciales con el gobierno que encabezará Luis Abinader.
El empresario y economista catalán felicitó a la República Dominicana por el civísmo demostrado en el desarrollo del pasado proceso electoral.
Asimismo, valoró la importancia de la iniciativa, ya que les une un vínculo muy estrecho con el país caribeño, al tiempo que adelantó que pondrá todo su empeño para que los empresarios de Cataluña continúen abriendo nichos de mercados en la República Dominicana y viceversa.
De su lado, Gómez Peña mostró su satisfacción por el encuentro porque será fructífero. “Creemos que podemos llegar acuerdos en numerosos aspectos comerciales que beneficia, considerablemente, a ambas partes, pero principalmente al país”, dijo.
“Estamos dando pasos concretos para cuando se instalen las nuevas autoridades dominicanas tengamos una base sólida para el fomento de las relaciones bilaterales en el área de inversión”, expresó.
Recordó que fortalecer los vínculos para relanzar la nueva política de inversión extranjera es una de las prioridades del presidente electo Luis Abinader en el ámbito internacional.
Indicó que la Unión Europea es el segundo socio comercial de la República Dominicana y que los países que la conforman tienen una estrecha relación, principalmente España, por las raíces históricas que los unen.
