Al haber impactado más de cuatro bateyes en Barahona, Mandiles de Esperanza llega a otro destino y en esta ocasión es el Cibao. En esta nueva activación, iniciada por Jarabacoa, esta ruta gastronómica solidaria llega a las comunidades de Hato Viejo y Buena Vista con el respaldo de instituciones y organizaciones sin fines de lucro.
El acto inaugural fue realizado en la Escuela Técnica Hotelera Serranía, un centro de capacitación fundado en el 2008, a la fecha ha capacitado a 3,884 mujeres jóvenes de zonas rurales. Funciona como Centro Operativo del Sistema (COS) de INFOTEP, ofrece carreras técnicas, sus actividades se realizan en la sede de la Escuela, y además se ofrece docencia en comunidades rurales cuyos pobladores carecen de acceso a otros medios de capacitación.
Las jóvenes estudiantes fueron las responsables de preparar el sabroso menú que se entregó en las comunidades, que contó con productos locales frescos y con los nutrientes necesarios para brindar una comida balanceada.
El acto inició a primera hora de la mañana con la presencia del señor Joselyn Díaz Alcalde de Buena Vista, quien manifestó sentirse muy alegre con esta iniciativa y brindó todo su respaldo para futuras activaciones. Asimismo, la señora Maribel Pichardo directora general de la escuela, concluyó hablando sobre el objetivo de este centro de estudios y aplaudió la labor de Mandiles de Esperanza ya que va con los objetivos de esa institución.
La señora Luisa Feliz fundadora de esta iniciativa se dirigió a las presentes y las motivó a que siempre estén actualizadas para trabajar con excelencia y puedan lograr más visibilidad de las mujeres en las cocinas.
Al concluir el acto inaugural, los invitados se desplazaron a la cocina central de la escuela para finalizar el proceso de empaque junto a las estudiantes, momento que se llenó de mucho entusiasmo y camaradería.
Después, el equipo de Mandiles de Esperanza junto a voluntarios de la Fundación Jireh de Jarabacoa visitó las comunidades de Hato Viejo y Buena Vista. En estos lugares fueron realizadas importantes charlas a mujeres con el fin de empoderarse y regalarles alimento para su alma.
En esta ocasión, Mandiles de Esperanza tuvo el privilegio de llevar alimentos al Centro Geriátrico Margarita Herrera y a las estaciones de Bomberos. Un recorrido que culminó en Altos del Yaque donde algunas familias de esta comunidad recibieron productos alimenticios como muestra de amor.
Este proyecto cuenta con el respaldo de: Banco de Alimentos de la República Dominicana, Baldom, Induveca, Banco Ademi, Graboestilo, Campusano Sign, Red de Mujeres en Gastronomía, Dominicana Gourmet, Buen Vivir con Luisa Feliz, Cablevisión Jarabacoa y Telever.
Mandiles de Esperanza es una ruta gastronómica solidaria creada por mujeres para mujeres y lleva una palabra de vida para contribuir con el bienestar de sus familias.
